It is a genuine pleasure to be the Cleck’ Captain and taking over from John Wood who will be a hard act to follow.
After a poor 2017 from the Club’s point of view – we want to improve and I am hoping to build a young team and gradually get where the Club wants to be, which is at the top end of the Premier League table.
It isn’t going to be easy as we don’t have the funds like so many in our League. With the signings we have and are going to sign we want to get the team ethic back and play entertaining cricket and hopefully keep the strong following that Cleck’ has always had.
I would also like to say it was great to play and win two Titles alongside my brother Ian, who has finished his playing days, and to win titles alongside my good mates also, which I’m hoping is an achievement we can gain once more.
I am looking to build something over the next five years or so and we want to see the young lads we sign progress and develop with Cleck’ and in to even better players and the best wicket in the Bradford League will help them. Tom Kohler-Cadmore is a great signing and he'll compliment the five other guys we have signed.
I will finish by saying I look forward to the future and improve upon what Cleck’ has already achieved.
We look forward to keeping the good support we have and hope our supporters enjoy our style of cricket – and a beer afterwards!
