Junior's News

Superb Friday night finale

Cleck’s ‘All Stars’ superstars that has seen children between the ages of five up to nine years of age for the last few weeks embrace coaching sessions full of teaching and laughter finally came to an end on July 9th but the youngsters and their parents and families went home happy!

Dave Worrall and his son Dean alongside Dean’s partner Angie provided a fabulous free barbecue on the night following the coaching session, which went down a real storm.

Over the last few weeks, the children have enjoyed a wonderful time and massive thanks must go to Cleck’s Cricket Chairman Ian Gatenby, his son Sam, influential cricket committee members and coaches Antony Lee and Russ Noble and Seconds’ Skipper Sam Bailey.

It’s difficult to describe exactly how successful the last few weeks have been but the afore-mentioned coaches in-particular can take great credit in how they’ve encouraged, looked after and given young children an experience they’ll take with them in to later years.

The youngsters were handed a cricket bag full of kit, which they've worn enthusiastically, cricket bat and ball but more importantly the opportunity to mix with other children, gain confidence and in the main have a marvellous few weeks and coached by people that care. It's been brilliant!

Who's the missing face at the end of the line-up above?

Apologies to Logan Lee from the rather hapless ageing photographer! Never-the-less, Logan can be seen below with Cleck's overseas Charitha Kumarasinghe and two of Logan's best buddies Alfie and Bobby Worrall

All Stars heaven sent!

Around 25 young children gathered at Cleck’ on Friday evening May 7th for their All Stars debut enjoying their kit including tee shirt bat and ball complete with a fabulous cricket bag - but more importantly having over an hour's fun!

Led by Cricket Chairman Ian Gatenby, who was ably supported by Antony Lee and Russ Noble the kids had a whale of a time showing great enthusiasm and enjoying the sun and lots of fun whilst being put through their paces.

Mums and Dads and grandparents joined in too at one point!

Alfie Worrall's mum Ang' took some fabulous photos of what was a brilliant evening for everyone and here are just six examples highlighting the kids' having fun (and parents too!)

**Brilliant signing on night**

Cleck’s Cricket Chairman Ian Gatenby and his wife Nicola together with Secretary Antony Lee and others were on hand to oversee a busy signing on night on Tuesday April 13th for youngsters of all ages, which was a huge success!

Those involved on the night included Seconds' Captain Sam Bailey, Scott Price, Ashleigh Hallas and William Wagstaff.

Such support is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

Over 50 children signed on and that augurs well for the future as Cleck’ continues to encourage the kids to enjoy their cricket.
